Study Guide
HOW TO STUDY:
1. Set a goal for how long you would like to study for one session.
2. Choose a STUDY ACTIVITY to perform for 15 minutes and take a 5 minute break. Do not go on the computer, tv, or phone during your break.
3. Turn off electronics: NO PHONE, NO TV. Music is okay and you can study with the computer but NO FACEBOOK.
4. DO NO STUDY ON YOUR BED>>>NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
5. Maximize your brain's power! Reward yourself for studying but don't overload on candy. Choose a time to study when you're brain is active, not a time of the day when you are usually tired.
6. Repeat the 15/5 cycle until you have studied for your goal time.

«Get organized! Make sure all of your review sheets are in order and completed. Yes, that counts as studying.
«Read over the page and quiz yourself with the practice questions on the back. Check your answers with the answer booklet. Review what you got wrong. SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE AND DOWNLOAD THE PACKET ANSWER KEY.
«Print an old Regents exam and match the multiple choice questions with your Review Pages. Use your review pages to help you answer the multiple choice.

What would you get? John Green. A real life person who presents 42 different areas from Global History and presents them in short videos lasting anywhere from 9-14 minutes. Be warned, they are cheesy, he is a major nerd, and they move super fast...but...they are a very good and compact review.
4. Outline Booklet:
«Scroll below for a comprehensive outline for all of Global History. Download the outline below. One way to study with it: Rank each topic in the table of contents from 1-10. 1 being you feel the least confident about and 10 being the best. Read everything you ranked a 1, then all of the 2’s, then 3’s, then 4’s, then 5’s…well, you get the point.
5. Practice Tests:
«Take a practice test and then check your answers. Review what you got wrong. Identify the topics you got wrong, find them in your outline booklet or binder and review them.
«Review old Regents exams visiting www.nysedregents.org and click Global History.
6. Powerpoint:
«Read over the Comprehensive Review Packet . This is one powerpoint with all of the content from Global I and Global II.
7. Vocab:
«Download and review the key terms list.
«Make flashcards to quiz yourself or have someone else quiz you
«One student had a great idea of hanging the cards up around her house, that way she could study while she was doing chores and other stuff around the house.
8. Notebook:
«Review your notes from your notebook. You can read over it on your way to school on the bus, train, or in the car and you can read it while you are line for scanning. *If you have taken notes using the method I taught you, cover one side and quiz yourself on the other side.*
9. Study Partners:
«Teach--Choose 5 things (words, concepts, ideas) and teach them to someone new!
«Quiz-Either on the phone or online or in person, have someone quiz you!
«Games--Get creative, is there a way you can use your flashcards or your notes or both to create games for studying.
